Scuola Secondaria di Primo Grado "Luigi Pierobon" Via
Borgo Treviso, 7 Our school is a lower secondary school, in Cittadella, a fine example of medieval fortified town situated 30 km N from Padua, and 40 Km NE from Venice. The heterogeneous economic wealth of the area derives from activities in the secondary and tertiary sector. There are numerous small industries dealing with the whole world and there is a growing interest in moving the production towards the East European countries. At present our school is in two separated but confining buildings which till some years ago hosted two different schools. There are about 700 pupils, about eighty teachers and around twenty staff for office or caretaker work. In spite of the fact the buildings are rather outdated, we can offer a canteen, an assembly room, three computer rooms (one for the teachers, two for the pupils), a music lab, a sport hall, open spaces for sport and recreation and gardens for leisure times. The school is fairly famous in the area as an organized and efficient body, with various opportunities for the pupils. In the last years the number of families, even from other nearby towns, wanting to enrol here their children has constantly grown. There is a high percentage of children with special educational needs and a growing number of migrate workers' children, especially from East Europe and African countries.
